Steam Mobile App Goes Into Beta
Valve has announced that a version of Steam for iOS and Android has gone into beta, allowing those whose Steam accounts are enabled for it to use Steam chat, check out sales and buy games, read news, and play around in Steam communities. (No gaming - or at least, not for now.) Note that this is still a closed beta for now, but installing the app and logging into your account will vastly increase the chances of you being added to the beta so you can actually, well, use the app.
One feature I'd like to see is some kind of remote buying so that you could buy a game on sale on your phone and have it automatically download on your home PC so it's ready when you get home. And does this mean that Steam is moving into the mobile gaming market? Probably not, or at least not for quite a while...
