Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Sells Millions

By Joe Dodson, 3/18/2010 8:15 PM

EA today announced that Battlefield: Bad Company 2 has sold over 2.3 million copies since its launch in early march. That's a lotta good company.

DICE's latest Battlefield game launched on March 2, and is on pace to be the highest selling game for a month that also includes Final Fantasy and God of War. The initial interest in the game was so high, according to EA, that it actually overwhelmed their servers.

While we don't know about that (some servers are more easily overwhelmed than others), it looks like EA's timing with Bad Company 2 was just right; they grabbed the flag from Modern Warfare 2's dead body and ran it all the way to the bank.

It is a great game, lots of fun! My only real gripe is sometimes when you are trying to flank you go "out of bounds" and are given 10 seconds to get back in the zone or you die. I hope they get rid of that. Besides that though, the best war game I've ever played and they did so much work on the sound to help make it realistic, it is awesome. Also the buildings coming apart and grenades leaving craters in the ground is also a fun touch!
