New Mass Effect 2 DLC - For a Price

By Joe Dodson, 3/11/2010 7:41 PM

A new Mass Effect 2 DLC episode is on its way April 6, but according to Bioware, you'll have to pay to play.

Bioware recently told Joystiq that their upcoming DLC episode, Kasumi's Stolen Memory, will feature a new character, a new weapon (Locust SMG), and a flash bang loyalty power for completing the new character's loyalty quest. Apparently, that quest will last a bit over an hour.

That sure doesn't sound like very much content, and it'll be interesting to see how much Bioware intends to charge for it.

Our preview of this content is still on the way, but if you liked how much Zaeed was interactive with the cast (as in, new Shepard voice work for her mission, plus telling stories on the Normandy and interjecting comments on the rest of the missions), then you'll be happy with this. At least, as long as they don't charge too much. I think right now they're wondering if they can get away with charging $10-$15, but I think the top of the bell curve (the one that maximizes their revenue) might be around six to eight bucks.
