Motion Controls in Next PS3 Tiger Woods Outing
EA Sports today announced that players will be able to swing along with their favorite golfers in this year's Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11, thanks to the implementation of Sony's new motion control technology.
Even though PGA Tour 11 launches in June and the motion controller doesn't launch until the holidays, the golfing sim will still feature the tech. That's because the PS3 motion controller had been originally slated to arrive this Spring, and publishers were given access to the development tools with that release date in mind.
So even though Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 will feature Sony motion controller functionality when it ships on June 8, it won't be able to use it for months and months. Still, it's a good sign that the tech is tested and ready to go, and that EA's developers have successfully worked it into one of their games this far in advance. It's also significant that EA didn't say anything about Project Natal functionality in their upcoming golf game.
