Here's the platform-independent installer for
FreeCol, a turn-based strategy game based on the old game Colonization, and similar to Civilization.
The objective of the game is to create an independent nation. You start with only a few colonists defying the stormy seas in their search for new land. Will you guide them on the Colonization of a New World?

All platforms:
A minimum screen resolution of 1024x768
Java Virtual Machine version 1.5.0 or above
Instructions:
Windows users should download freecol-0.10.4-installer.exe. You can run the file directly or save it to disk. If you choose the latter then just double-click the file once it's downloaded.
Users that know how to start a java program can download freecol-0.10.4-installer.jar. Start the installation program by running the command: "java -jar freecol-0.10.4-installer.jar". This installer is recommended for Linux users.
Note 1: You may ignore the message "The music files could not be loaded by FreeCol. Disabling music.". There is no music available yet in this release of FreeCol.
Note 2: The current implementation of Java's full screen support doesn't work well with all Linux window managers. Add the command line option "--windowed" if you're having trouble. Also try this option if you're having trouble in Windows.
