Here's the free, unlockable Mac trial version of AI War: The Light of the Spire, an expansion to the space-based RTS AI War: Fleet Command.
The expansion is packed full of new additions. The "Fallen Spire" campaign brings in-game linear story elements to the title for the first time, and culminates in a whole new way to win. Players with minutes instead of hours should take to the new Defender Mode, offering bite-sized timed games against crazy AI aggression.
Light of the Spire also brings 180 new ships, including the powerful "Spirecraft" vessel class which stands as the second largest unit class in the game. New music from composer Pablo Vega, new AI types, map types, bonus ship classes, minor factions and quite a bit more packs the expansion to the brim. Prepare for a new war!

About Updating To An Expansion
If you have the base game and install an expansion, you will go into trial mode of the expansion. Feel free to explore the expansion that way, but if you want to go back to full mode without buying the expansion, simply click "License / Expansions" on the main menu, and turn off the expansion. If you have bought the expansion, simply enter your license key via that same window.
If you want to update an old savegame to the expansion, simply type "cmd:activate expansion X" (without quotes), with the "X" being the number of the expansion you want to enable. So, to enable The Zenith Remnant, it would be "cmd:activate expansion 1" without quotes. This includes enabling the expansion ship classes, as well as enabling other new capturables and AI weapons to be found in the galaxy, although the population of those capturables is likely to be different from what it would have been if the expansion had been turned on from the start of the campaign given the same seed and other settings. There is no way to disable the expansion for an existing game, however, so be sure not to save over your existing file if you want to go back to the non-expansion version of the game.
DRM
We've been asked if the game contains any significant DRM, and the answer is, emphatically, no. We've got a simple license key (which turns the trial version into the full version), but that's it. No need to contact our servers during install, no hidden drivers, no encryption, or install limits.
We want to make it easy on our customers, and we've never really felt like DRM works, anyway. If you like our games, please buy them so that we can make more, but we're not about to start treating our real customers like thieves just to thwart the inevitable pirates.
If there's a problem with the file or transfer, check our FAQ. If you are still having issues, let us know.
