Here's a standalone patch for Ensemble Studios' Age of Empires III: Asian Dynasties that updates the game to version 1.01a with a fix for the exploit with the French cheaper church card. The full patch notes can be viewed here in RTF format.A bug was discovered in Age of Empires III: The Asian Dynasties following the release of patch 1.01. A French home city card lowers the Church building cost to a negative number, so that a player can receive wood for placing a Church.
Saved and recorded games using the 1.01 patch will not be compatible with the game once it has been updated to 1.01a.
To find out what version of Age of Empires III is currently installed, click on the "Help and Tools" button from the main game menu and then the "About" button. The game version will be listed at the top of the screen.
